Driving Instructor Training in London

Chelsea Driving School is delighted to have three of the best qualified driver trainers in the UK, training and recruiting our driving instructors.

We are ‘one of’ the only local training schools to offer one of our Ordit registered grade A, ADI’s to sit in on lessons to provide continuity of training and support as required, as this will not only benefit our instructors but also all of our learner drivers moving forward.

This fits in with the DVSA’s mission statement ‘safe driving for life’.

Becoming a driving instructor

Initially there will be a free 1 to 1 meeting to discuss and go through the process to becoming a Driving Instructor.

Once you have decided that this is the career for you then the training begins.

– Part 1. The theory test

Our Ordit Instructors offer FREE training for this and advise about the necessary materials required to help you pass.

– Part 2. Driving ability

There will be a 1 to 1 in car driving assessment with your Trainer and a show/talk through of what is involved and required to pass this test.

Our Trainers estimate around 10 hours of instruction with them, but more private practice could reduce this. Don’t forget practice make perfect.

– Part 3. Teaching ability

The minimum for this as required by the DVSA before a pink badge can be applied for is 40hrs and ALL training is on a 1:1 basis. You will also be able to sit in on real lessons with NO cost to you.

You will be taught and monitored by one of our ‘hand picked’ highly qualified Independent Driving Instructor Trainers.

Your personal Instructor Trainer will allow you to work at your own pace, in your own time and around your current job.

There is a ‘pay as you go’ option, so you don’t have to commit and pay a big sum upfront. You will be able to pay your trainer in manageable instalments.

As a rough guide your training should take anywhere between 6-9 months, but it could be done sooner.

Once you have passed the ADI Part 2 Test you can then apply for a Trainee Licence (Pink Badge) OR you can progress straight to the ADI Part 3 Test and become a fully qualified ADI.

There is then the potential to join our team at Chelsea Driving School, one of the most ‘prestigious’ schools in London. Once you have the necessary qualifications and trained with us we guarantee you can join our driving school as a new instructor and start earning.
